Death wolf pup found in Østmarka

A hiker reported discovery to the Norwegian Nature Inspectorate (SNO) Monday night. The puppy was found south-west of the wolf pack territories Østmarka, Akershus.

- Snow's research shows that the puppy has not been dead long, and that it was relatively small in stature. Police have routinely created cause of the discovery, and the puppy will be sent to standard surveys and sampling, says Frode Aalbu, Acting head of section in SNO.

Norwegian Nature earlier this year demonstrated a young litter of five puppies in Østmarka-turf.

A wolf has been shot at Blåmyra in Ringsaker.

It says these contacts in Ringsaker, Olaf Tørud Bakken, to Ringsaker Blad just before the clock 13.30 Sunday.

Then the wolf just been shot.

- It was shot on the border between the Ring Aker and Hamar, north of Blåmyra, says Tørud Bakken.

Earlier Sunday reported Ringsaker Hunting- and fishing area on Facebook about a recent observation of wolves around Blåmyra.

The area is located north of Vollkoia in Furnes commons, and northeast of newly built.

Mayor letter and the people's vision

Regarding permits to kill wolves
We see that the County Governor of Oslo and Akershus has just granted a hunting permit on a wolf in Nannestad. According to the decision given permission because "the risk of injury is great". Predator Rost has nevertheless filed an appeal the main argument ours is that there is an agreement with Sveigen to strive to find DNA on wolves one does not know the origin of, such as this .

Thousands protested against the Norwegian wolf policy
More than 5.0000 and maybe even up to 10.000 people took part in Monday's demonstration. And the very sharp reactions against climate minister's decision will now have a political hearing. For now, it is clear that the hunting season for the Norwegian licensed hunting of wolves is extended by six weeks and will now run until the 31 mars.

Twenty-eight. That is the number of wolves that hunters killed in Norway this winter. The hunters shot wolves both inside and outside the so-called wolf zones. The latest population estimates from early 2017 indicate maximum 56 wolves in Norway, plus the same amount living at the border with Sweden. The wolf is still a protected species, also in Norway. Then why is there so much hostility towards the wolf?

WWF sues Norwegian state

The Norwegian management of wolves, boiling down to killing almost 50% annually, is unlawful. As WWF states, it goes against the Norwegian constitution, the Biodiversity Act and the Bern Convention. WWF submitted short-term demands to stop the winter hunt. However, the Oslo District Court dismissed the case twice.

Another case now goes to court, next week. The trial will take place April 24th to 28th.
