The number of wolves in Sweden continues to decline in Sweden. In just one year, every seven wolves disappeared or died, and in three years has decreased by more than a quarter.
When the Environmental Protection Agency presents its statistics for the number of wolves in Sweden they count also kill wolves. So when they write that the winter 2017/18 were approximately 305 wolves in Sweden, so was the highest 266 them alive. The rest was shot in protection- or hunting license during inventeringensperioden. Exactly how many people live is also unclear.
