Wolf hunt in full swing
Another wolf was shot on Wednesday in Värmland neighboring counties Hedmark.

A wolf was shot on Wednesday during the ongoing Norwegian hunting license in Värmland neighboring counties Hedmark. The male wolf that was shot with one bullet was the second of a total of four wolves which may be folded in Hedmark during the hunt.

– It is a male of two to three years weighing 49,5 kilo, says Svein Erik Björke at the National Naturoppsyn.

This year's hunt is the largest on 40 jaktkvot year with a total of twelve wolves. The Norwegian wolf population is made up according to the latest estimates of the 28 och 32 animal. In addition, there are about 30 wolves moving across the border to Sweden but where hunting is not allowed. The two wolves that have so far been convicted in Hedmark have been shot in Rendalen and Engerdal.
