The suspected wolf that last week was discovered in southern Norrbotten over the weekend moved down to Vasterbotten. There, the wolf should also have been seen and so far described 11 renar.

It was last week that Mauskaure village in southern Norrbotten sent a cull application to the County Administrative Board of Norrbotten, when you suspect that you have received a wolf among the reindeer.

– It was bad track conditions but we could see along with county administrative staff on the ground that it is most likely involved a wolf, says Mauskaure sameby chairman Peter Larsson.

The suspected wolf individual had managed to tear reindeer and provincial government then took a new sample from the bite of the carcass where the wolf bitten. A sample used largely among grated sheep.

– It was a new method to sample, Mon topsar on kadavret. But unfortunately it was the test we did not take good enough. So it has not been possible to determine whether the case of the wolf and the genetic key, says Anna Danell predators officer at the County Administrative Board of Norrbotten.
