Statistics vary but it is clear that the predator injure or kill very few hunting dogs if you look at the total picture. There are hunters themselves who represent the main hazard for hunting dogs, writes reader Thomas Alm.

The statistics vary from year to year, but it is more than clear that wolves and other predators injure or kill very few hunting dogs if you dare to see the total picture. Most are killed or injured by other causes, as traffic, other wildlife and hunters.

What that expose the dogs to these risks is obvious.

According to the insurance company Agria Statistics were killed / injured 5.968 dogs years 2007 to 2017 in traffic. While it is important to know that their statistics on traffic accidents show all races in all parts of the country, you have to realize that it is primarily hunting dogs roaming free and are at risk in traffic.
