This particular case concerns an exemption for wolf hunting in Savo, where the Finnish authorities decided that seven wolves may be held in the so-called ordinary care order.

Finland's Supreme Administrative Court would have, inter alia ECJ's interpretation of the exemption for the hunting of wolves could be granted "in the ordinary care aimed at the application of individual hunters" to protect elk hunting, reduce poaching, increase public safety and reduce the risk of dogs wolf killed.
